MAYOR JOHN CRANLEY
Raised in Price Hill, John Cranley was infused with a deep faith and commitment to giving back at a young age. Now John and his wife, Dena, are raising their son in the city, dedicated to same ideals of hard work, service and faith. As Mayor, John is working every day to make Cincinnati the best place in America to live, raise a family and locate a business.
Since taking office in late 2013, John has helped bring more than 6,100 new jobs to Cincinnati; lobbied for three police recruit classes which added 97 officers, the first new hires in six years; added 46 firefighters, which effectively ended “brownouts” in the Fire Department; resolved the city’s pension crisis; approved a multi-year plan to repave and repair deteriorating roads; and drafted a major anti-poverty program, the Hand Up Initiative.
John’s commitment to civil rights and equal opportunity match the values of our Queen City. As Mayor, he implemented a Croson Disparity Study and created an Office of Economic Inclusion & Minority Contracting, aimed at increasing the number of minority firms awarded city contracts. On council, John led the effort to ban racial profiling and was a lead negotiator for the historic Collaborative Agreement, which has helped improve race relations in the city. John also led the effort to pass the Hate Crimes Law after a person was murdered because of their sexual orientation.
John is the co-founder of the Ohio Innocence Project, which has exonerated more than 20 people who were wrongfully imprisoned. Also, John has worked as a private sector developer and a real estate attorney. He graduated from St. William’s, St. Xavier High School and earned degrees from John Carroll University, Harvard Law School and Harvard Divinity School.

Kim’s favorite word is revel. She believes we have a responsibility to help one another move to the edge of our individual and collective greatness. She has worked alongside New York Times bestselling author and optimist, Simon Sinek, since 2008. Adam has no idea why people write bios about themselves in the third person. So I’m going to just address you directly. It might sound less fancy but it’s a lot more personal. Let me know what you think.
After 16+ years as a consultant, marketer, and innovation practitioner, most recently as Principal at SYPartners, I started Rule No. 1, a consultancy dedicated to helping companies be the best version possible of themselves—living their unique purpose and values in their culture and in the market.
My recent consulting has focused on the intersection of brand and culture—helping companies create distinctive brands and fully activate their people to bring those brands to life. I’ve partnered with senior executives at leading companies such as IBM, Hyatt, JetBlue, Celgene, and Metlife, to codify company purpose, values, behaviors, and vision; define brand identity and strategy; design leadership development and workforce engagement programs; and shift mindsets and behaviors to fuel brand, culture and performance.
I began my career at McKinsey & Company, consulting on strategy and organizational change. I worked at Pfizer as a brand manager on Sudafed, Listerine, and Efferdent, and at J&J to build a new innovation capability and unlock non-traditional revenue streams. I’ve got a BA in Speech & Drama from Yeshiva University, and a PhD in Psychology from the University of Chicago.
In addition to my professional passions, I am an avid craft beer lover, home brewer, father of 3, and I enjoy some quiet reading time when I can get it.

Because of her passion and unique approach to her work, the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) named her the Top Health Promotion Professional in the U.S. in 2015 and among the Top 10 in 2017. HANLIE VAN WYK

Hanlie’s professional career spans 26 years and three continents. She was involved in monitoring hate crime with the University of South Africa Center for Applied Psychology and a founding member of the Hate Crimes Working Group-a multi-sectoral network of civil society organizations set up to spearhead advocacy and reform initiatives. The work resulted in improved hate crime legislation. Inspired by Nelson Mandela’s quote “People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love” her new research will focus on the prevention and mitigation of hate crimes. As a consultant she facilitated leadership and talent actualization for clients in a range of industries. She co-developed a unique approach that measures and explains the interactions between brain behavior and wellbeing and used this to create a platform for exemplary leadership. She currently works as Head of Applied Behavioral Research and Habit Change at the Behavioral Research and Applied Technology Laboratory (BRATLAB). Hanlie fills a critical gap with her background, expertise and practical experience in building and implementing performance programs. In her spare time she is a shaman-in-training.

On a global scale, coffee is one of the worst industries for workers, many of whom are paid unfairly, or are forced to work without wages. David and his team at La Terza have made a concentrated effort to reject this system by buying coffee through sources that guarantee a living wage for their employees.
Through his mission of helping create a more ethical, sustainable coffee industry, David has come to realize that changing the working conditions of an average coffee farmer is only the first step towards fixing the negative narratives that plague our current economic system.

Mark serves heart-led entrepreneurs, innovative leaders, and coaches/therapists stalled in important work or life pursuits. Prior to Concentrated Coaching, Mark had 34 years of coaching and consulting experience in strategy and strategy implementation (including incentive design and sales analytics), in startups and multinational companies around the world. That included roles as a Partner at the London Perret Roche Group; VP Professional Services at marketRx/Cognizant; Group Leader at the strategy advisory firm, Monitor Group; Senior Partner and Vice President at CSC Healthcare; Vice President with The Wilkerson Group (merged with IBM Healthcare); Principal at Towers Perrin; and lecturer at New York University. Mark has a BS from MIT (computer science/engineering), MBA from Wharton (strategic planning), and 1,200 hours of clinical training resulting in certifications in Internal Family Systems, NLP, and Ericksonian Hypnosis.

Rob is an adjunct faculty member at Auburn Theological Seminary and holds graduate degrees from Harvard Divinity School and Harvard University. He has held faculty positions at Harvard University, Harvard Divinity School, Northeastern University, and the Lesley College Graduate School of Management.

Carolyn is a gifted strategist and teacher who has spent her career building highly effective cultures, businesses and teams. She has been a leader concurrently in both the private and public/non-profit sectors for the last four decades. Diplomat, Wall Street Banker, Management Consultant, Healthcare Futurist, Talent Innovator, Professor, Author, Philanthropist, Executive Coach – Carolyn’s career journey has provided her with a unique perspective on building the “heart-ware” operating system of business.
As the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of the boutique consulting firm, Imaginal Labs, along with her life partner, Rob Evans, Carolyn is focused on helping courageous leaders make the difference they dream of. She is also the Co-Founder and Executive-in-Residence at the Center for Talent Innovation, whose mission is to lead ground-breaking research that leverages talent across the divides of gender, generation, geography, and culture. She has co-authored several articles in the HBR and recently published a new book “Reimagining Healthcare: Through a Gender Lens.
Carolyn has served in a variety of capacities in advancing women’s leadership including past Board Chair of the New York Women’s Foundation, being named the 2012 Woman of the Year by the Healthcare Women’s Business Association, and, in 2007, she was appointed by Mayor Bloomberg as a Commissioner of the New York City Commission on Women’s Issues.
